@maxmillionmusic good question 🙂 when your store is “syncing” with Mailchimp, we apply an “is_syncing = true” to your store to shut off any automations that would normally be sending out. So during the sync you have nothing to worry about. You’re clear to press the button.
Hi @ryanhungate, i hope you’re doing well.
thanks for the reply but that didn’t answer the question, i mean what if we already have 30.000 orders during the last years, which in the past (and now) we sent automations to (with the help of a third party plugin) , will installing the Mailchimp plugin re-send automations to all previous orders?
In conclusion, does the plugin process customer data from store as new orders, and needs to re-send automations , or only new automations will be sent (after syncing, as you pointed out)
@maxmillionmusic sorry let me be a little more specific.
Question: Will this re-trigger your automations while it’s syncing old data?
Answer: NO it will NOT resend automations while you’re syncing historical data.
Additional: When it’s done syncing – your automations will turn back on again for the future orders that come in.
The reason I brought up is_syncing = true is because Mailchimp has already thought of this, and that flag on your store specifically shuts off these automations while you’re in the syncing process.
You’re clear to press the button 🙂
