This particular block simply displays a Calendly embed. If the ability to avoid double-booking exists, it would be configured on Calendly’s end.

Hi James,
thanks for getting back. No I tried Calendly. But that doesn’t work for me, it is too narrow focused on just one type of meeting. You can’t attach a select menu to an appointment. And just comes with way too much “branding”.

The Appointment form block can’t do this, no, as it’s not a booking system. It’s just a regular contact form using a preset template containing the fields one would typically need to make an appointment, and as such it’s not tied to any database listing available slots where an appointment slot could become unavailable via an existing appointment.
For that you’d need an actual booking plugin, like WooCommerce Bookings, or else use a service like Calendly directly, and just link to that from your site.
