• This is my login page. Recently it stopped recognising the username/password combo I have had for a while (stored on the local machine), and refused me access. I have asked multiple times for a password reset, and have followed the emailed link, created a new password (or accepted the one given) – and that new password has been rejected too. Just once I managed to get in via the WP-Admin link on the wordpress.com stats page, and I have kept my dashboard open ever since!
I frequently end up with the line ‘3 attempts remaining’ – sometimes this counts down and locks me out for 20 minutes, and other times it stays at 3 for multiple (>>3) attempts. Sometimes there’s a ‘Prove your humanity’ sum which seems to have no effect. I have no idea what is happening.

    Update
Have disabled all plugins, and got to a stage where I no longer get the “wrong password” message.
Instead I get a message saying “Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.”
Browser is Chrome and the setting has been “Enable all cookies” for years…

OK: disable plugins – get cookie error preventing me logging in
Enable plugins: get incorrect password error preventing me logging in

Neither seems to be terribly helpful
