Got strange behavior with homepage caching. When I publish article, HB wont clear cache for homepage so it doesnt show any new post. Its same when I publish it manually or by schedule. I have to manually clear whole cache or set HB to clear whole cache after any post is published. Which is unnecessary I think, puts more load to server when it is enough to properly clear cache for homepage.

Got some idea what could be wrong, but cant test it on my web as it is quite busy. Using Newspaper theme from Tagdiv, which replaces default system homepage with custom static page (but defined through default WP function in /wp-admin/options-reading.php ). Could it be the reason that HB is not clearing cache for homepage after publishing post?

It would be great if I could clear only homepage cache for web, similar as from admin bar.

Also I would like to thank you for great cache plugin, switched from WP Super Cache and like HB much more.

    Hello @wlkus

    I trust you’re doing well!

I’ve tested this issue on my end and could not replicate it.

Please make sure following options in Hummingbird > Caching > Page Cache are matching:
    – Deactivate “Include logged in users” option
    – Enable “Clear full cache when post/page is updated

    Please see this screenshot:
    https://monosnap.com/file/uXp6KqxjNV3uS2fyp5QDV5zf9uQel8

Please view your site in an incognito window after updating a page/post. To view if the page’s cache cleared, the Hummingbird is adding a comment to the page source, right before a </body> tag. Please see this screenshot:
    https://take.ms/zIlLp

If after this cache is still not be cleared, please enable an option that says “Enable debug log”. Re-save your home page and check if there are any details in teh debug log. Please share this file with us.

    Please advise,

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

    Thanks for reply Nastia.

    – Deactivate “Include logged in users” option

I have this deactivated, because site doesnt allow users to login.

    – Enable “Clear full cache when post/page is updated”

And tried to avoid enabling this one as it seems to me as unnecessary load to server. Cache should refresh homepage automatically after updating article? I have enabled Preload caching so clearing cache wastes quite a lot of preloaded data. But yes, will try it…

    Hello @wlkus

    I hope you’re doing well!

Without having “Clear full cache when post/page is updated” option enabled, cache will not be cleared automatically after changes made on a page (on any page or post). With this option deactivated, Page cache needs to be cleared manually, by going to Hummigburd > Caching > Page Cache

If you wish to clear cache automaticity after a post./page were updated, please consider enabling this option.

Have a good day and take care!

    Cheers,
    Nastia
