First, send a direct email from your email address that you want to configure with WP MAIL SMTP. Check if the email is going or not.
If it’s not, then check if the email address is correctly set up.
And if it is, then check for the correct email address in From Email field in WP MAIL SMTP.
Also, try to send a test email from here: https://prnt.sc/sftvoa, to check if it is correctly landing in the inbox.

Send Email You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly configured. Please check your settings.
No please don’t send a test email from WP Mail SMTP.
Suppose if you are configuring this email: name@mywebsite.com in WP Mail SMTP then please send a direct email from your email id name@mywebsite.com to any of your other email id like yourname@gmail.com and see if you are receiving email at yourname@gmail.com or not.

Yes, in order to receive email notifications from WordPress, you must have to first click on the confirmation link sent to your email address.
Because you have not confirmed the email address that’s why you are not getting emails.
Note: Please don’t post your email address in the forum. It’s not a good practice.
