    hey team,

since I am getting rid of my wordpress website I am trying to move away from powerpress to my media host buzzsprout. How do I deal with the powerpress plug in after the redirect has been up for awhile? In other words, what happens and what goes away on the website when I turn the powerpress plug in off? WIll my “podcast” category tab and episode posts still be accessible? Will only the powerpress payer and the powerpress-generated subscribe page go away? I have a fair amount of people listening in the web browser on the website.

    Thanks

Yes, if you quit using PowerPress, then all the stuff that PowerPress does will go away.

Instead, you can host your mp3 files anywhere and still use PowerPress in WordPress. Just put the mp3 links from Buzzsprout in the podcast episode box. Everything will work as it did before and you won’t have to change your feed or anything.

    Hey Mike,

so all the posts and the podcast category will get deleted as well?

the reason for me wanting to redirect to my buzzsprout feed is that I will get rid of my website soon.

    Thanks

    Hi Maxlwie,

Make sure you have moved your feed to your new host/rss feed and then do a 301 redirect from WordPress (make sure you leave the WordPress site in place with the 301 redirect of the feed for 30days to make sure you don’t loose anuy subscribers.

The reidrect will also take care of all the directories and apps.

see: https://create.blubrry.com/manual/syndicating-your-podcast-rss-feeds/changing-your-podcast-rss-feed-address-url/ for how to do the redirect.
