GTM – visitorType undefined

    Hello,

    I have successfully installed GTM (GA in container) using Site Kit. GA tag is working, but I am trying to setup a trigger to block logged-in admin users (a very common thing to do).

    The visitorLoginState data layer variable is working as expected. It shows logged-in or logged-out.

    I added the visitorType data layer variable, so I could only block wp admins.

    However, the visitorType value keeps showing “undefined” whether I am logged-in or logged-out.

    Can you tell me why this data layer variable isn’t working?

    @startsmartnow For blocking reporting on WordPress admins have you tried using the “Excluded from Analytics” feature from the Analytics module settings (Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Analytics Edit > Excluded from Analytics)?

    I don’t think that works when you put Google Analytics in your GTM container. Also, for membership websites, you don’t want to block logged in users. You want to block logged in admin users. Thanks for the tip! That will work for clients or other folks who don’t have membership websites.

    I found a work around using the DOM element and body class.
