    Hello,

When inside google search console and clicking the test live url, my favicon page says it is not crawl able. This is happening on all sites in my multisite network. Yoast SEO is basically the only plugin network activated. AmI configuring something wrong?

Google tells me my favicon.ico urls are bring blocked by robots.txt file.

How do I fix this? Settings, search appearance?

    Please help.

  • Can you please provide us a link to an example page where this issue is occurring so we can check for any issues with the robots.txt?

If there is something in your robots.txt file that is preventing the favicon from being crawled and you want to edit it, you can edit the robots.txt file by performing the following steps:

    In WordPress, go to SEO>Tools
    Click on ‘File Editor’
Under ‘robots.txt’ beneath ‘Edit the content of your robots.txt:’ is a field from which you can directly edit your robots.txt file
After making any changes to the file, click ‘Save changes to robots.txt’

We also have more information on this and editing the robots.txt file here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-through-yoast-seo/

Also, if you are receiving a warning that Google is unable to crawl a URL on your site due to the ‘URL blocked / restricted by robots.txt’ this can be caused by several possible causes and we have a guide on resolving them here:
