“Never Show Again” Only Sets a Session Cookie
-
We’re experiencing what appears to be a bug in the way the “never show again” link behaves vs. the “long hide” dismissal of a slide-in (the ‘X’ in the upper right) in terms of the controlling cookies.
When a slide-in is dismissed using the ‘X’ icon in the top right, a cookie is set in the user’s browser for approx. 7 days out from now, to prevent it from reappearing during that time as long as the user’s browser data isn’t cleared manually. This behavior is normal and desired.

Is there additional configuration necessary to set a longer-term persistent cookie for this action, or is it a bug that’s causing it to be set only as a session cookie and not persisted with a future date (e.g., at least 6-12 months out)? If it’s not a bug, then the “never show again” aspect of the terminology is certainly misleading, as it will absolutely show again on the next browser restart…

Hello @mgwordpress
I hope you’re well today and thank you for reporting this!
It seems that you’re right and there’s a bug. I’ve checked and tested it on my end, and I can fully replicate the issue and confirm that this isn’t an expected behavior as the “never see this again” link should permanently hide given slide-in for “forever”.
I’ve already reported it to our developers so they would fix it for future releases.
Thank you again for pointing it out!
Best regards,
Adam
