    Hi!

I’m looking to create an auto pop up message that welcomes the users to start chatting. I looked at your auto pop up settings but it doesn’t do what I want. I just want a message that says “Welcome, let us know if you need help” or similar.

I can see that other websites that use WP Live Chat have this, how do I implement it? Thanks!

Hello @amandau, you can easily customize the pop-up message.
Check Settings -> Styling and Settings -> Chat Box
You can change picture, add text, several options there.

Hello and thanks for the quick response.

I’m confused by your answer. I went to where you advised but I don’t see how I could achieve what I’m looking for there.

I don’t want the form to pop up, I just want a small message to appear (when an agent is online) to “tease” the visitor that they can initiate a chat.

I just updated the plugin to the latest version.

Hello @amandau, just enable auto pop-up with “No Forms” then customize messages in ‘Chat box title’ and ‘Chat box sub-title’.

    Hello again,

If I do that I still get the form name and e-mail fields. There is no difference if I choose “No forms” or “All forms”. After saving the changes I’ve looked in an incognito window but don’t see any difference.

Hello @amandau, it seems that something is wrong on your side.

If you select “No Forms” from here https://i.imgur.com/gxGWjZ6.png
auto pop-up will look like this:

If you select “All Forms” it will look like this:

As you noticed, many websites are using this feature and it’s working properly.

    Hi again,

Hmm all right, I might know what’s causing that, thanks.

I assume there is no way to have two different messages for “all forms” or “no forms”? It’s not quite the look we were going for, more something like this:

    Thanks again.

Hello @amandau, you can remove picture and put only text if you like. You can customize the icon and put Shaun face.

You design is missing the “Start chat” button and we feel it’s quite important to have it.

    Enjoy!

    That’s great, thanks!

Sadly there is a max text limit in both boxes I noticed πŸ™ What I want to say doesn’t fit. I suppose I’ll have to re-word it to make it fit, unless this is something you plan to change?

    Thanks again!

Hello @amandau, currently there’s a 50 char limit for both fields. For normal usage is more than enough. Consider that the purpose of this box is to attract users with few words and some catchy graphics: if you put a lot of text there, it’s less likely users will read.

If you need a timed custom pop-up, consider using a time trigger. This feature allows you to fully customize html inside pop-up. Check in Live Chat -> Triggers.
