RSS Feed no longer working

I recently set up a new podcast using powerpress and wordpress. Power press defined the RSS feed url and I uploaded the podcast and inital post. The feed worked properly was validated and then submitted to apple for approval. 3 days later I checked the feed and it was no longer working with nothing changed. I then tried a modified url of http://www.sitename.com/?feed=podcast instead of the original of http://www.sitename.com/feed/podcast and it now works. Any reason why the original feed url is not longer working and why the new url works fine. I only knew to try this new url because a previous podcast had the same structure.
