Is this a new issue on a site previous working? Did you upgrade anything?
Who is your web hosting platform provider?
Can you look in the console to see what errors you’re getting when you try to enter the address?
It has been happening and has not changed over the past month. We have Godaddy and recently updated the php and updated WordPress. I do not know how to look in the console to see what errors I’m getting. Thanks.
GoDaddy often seems to be a problem for people trying to use WordPress. I know at least a few who switched platforms because GoDaddy wasn’t worth the headache.
But, let’s see if we can figure out any errors.
How you open a console depends on what browser you use. I suggest using Google (or whatever search engine you use) and search for “Open console in [the browser you use]”.
Once you get it open, you’ll see a lot of stuff you may not understand, but then try adding a meeting location. Hopefully the error will show up in red lettering, and you can copy & paste.
If you’re stuck, consider setting me up with an admin account and I’ll try looking at it myself.
Thanks for trying to help but I’m afraid I’m not getting it. Can I set you up as a temp admin? How do I go about giving you that info to login?
Send it to tech2serve (at) itstechnical (dot) net.
Tech2serve, i emailed you our login info. Thanks in advance for any help you may give.
I’m not seeing it. I have checked my spam folders and not seeing it there either.
Please check you have the address correct and didn’t get a bounce back.
Please check what I did. I assumed you were talking about the meeting at the Snowden Treatment Center.
I think the issue is that Google doesn’t like the combination of the name Snowden Treatment Center and the address (which they have as Snowden at Fredericksburg).
What I did to get it to work was clear all the location information, and then copy and paste the address into the Address field. Once Google autofilled the rest of the information, I was able to publish.
Thank you for publishing the Young People’s meeting, but I’m still having problems publishing others. For example, there’s the Colonial Beach meeting which is saved as a draft, that is having the same issues. I fill in the address and then I can’t publish. I did what you suggested and copy/pasted the address in the address field and I’m not getting Google to autofill the rest of the info and then publish. I have several more to do but I didn’t want to keep going if I didn’t have a workaround to the problem. Any other ideas on why I can’t publish?
Please send to my email the list of meetings your trying to add (with the addresses) and I will try a couple from scratch.
Frankly, at this stage, I’m not sure what is going on. When you tried the copy & paste, did you copy the address from the Google maps page? By doing that, we know we have an address that their servers recognize.
I sent you three meetings which I still cannot add. Any support would be helpful. Thank you again.
I was able to add the two that were drafts without any problems.
I don’t think you ever answered my question about what browser you’re using, and the version.
Sorry, I’m using Safari 13.0.2. Thank you for adding the meetings!
I wasn’t expecting that 🙂 Same browser as I am, so that isn’t the problem. I really don’t know what is causing your issues in adding meetings, but I’m confident it isn’t the plugin.
Two ideas:
1) Try some other computer/network (or having one of your other trusted servants try from another computer).
2) I’d be willing to try doing a Team Viewer session with you sometime after November 1st, and I’ll watch you enter a meeting.
