I had a previously free version that had been running since June. I logged in Monday to check on live traffic and everything was grayed out I could not click on any of the links. I deactivated it, deleted it, used the WF assistant, and removed everything. I reinstalled the plugin and activated it. I then went to do its first scan earlier today and was unable to, it says it is in learning mode, and still all grayed out. I need some suggestions to try and fix this… I’m exposed now 🙁

  • Hey @thehhca,

Can you please share a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

Do you see any errors in the browser console?

It sounds like there might be a conflict either with the theme or one of the plugins you’re using, could you try temporarily switching to a default theme if you’re not already using one and disabling all other plugins then reactivating them one by one to see if the issue persists?

To do so I recommend the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin which allows you to disable all plugins and switch to a default theme, but only for your user.

ok I blanket deactivated all plugins then reactivated WF. Tada, it worked. I reactivated all plugins one at a time checking WF between each activation. it continues to work. All plugins are now activated and WF is still working great! Thanks for the advice it worked like a charm although I would have liked to find out which plugin had caused the conflict.

    Thanks again WFG,

    Hey @thehhca,

I always like to know the culprit in situations like this as well. But sometimes we just have to take the win. My best guess is deactivating and reactivating the plugins busted a cache that was causing the issue.

Please do let us know if this, or anything else comes up.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

I had the same issue. I was never able to click on any buttons in WordFence after installing it. I’m glad I came to this forum to get the recommendation to deactivate plugins then reactivate.

I thought the trial version wouldn’t allow me to do anything. Which made it quite difficult to see if the premium version would be worth the cost.

    Thanks
