    Hey JetPack plugin!

Great work! I’ve been using this plugin for a few years now and it’s been great. Thanks so much for putting it together. I’d be happy to write a plugin review provided the bug mentioned below is able to be fixed.

Recently, I discovered a conflict between your plugin and the Simple Membership plugin. I’m currently using the most recent versions of both (7.7.1 of JetPack and 3.8.9 of the Simple Membership plugin), however I’ve tried rolling back to several older versions of both plugins and I still experience the same conflict.

The bug I am experiencing is with WordPress admin log-in. I’m able to log into WordPress just fine, but after about a minute (or if I try to click on any page within my dashboard), I’m booted out of my WordPress account and prompted to log-in again. This happens to no end. After several device reboots, cookie/cache clears, redirect checks, and chats with my hosting provider, I disabled all plugins and discovered that the issue occurs only when JetPack and Simple Membership are enabled at the same time (even when all other plugins are disabled). Both plugins work fine on their own when activated while the other is deactivated.

If I could just disable the Simple Membership plugin to keep using the JetPack plugin I would. Unfortunately, my site is comprised entirely of content that should only be shown to paying members, and I need the membership plugin to operate this. When I disable the Simple Membership plugin and keep the JetPack plugin enabled, content that is supposed to be available to paying members only (thanks to the Simple Membership plugin) is made public for all to see. 🙁 If I disable JetPack, my site’s content disappears completely because it is portfolio-based and requires JetPack to run. If I enable both JetPack and the Simple Membership plugin at the same time, everything looks/works well on the front end, but I’m unable to access the site’s back end.

    Please help! Thank you! 🙂

    That’s very odd!

Does it work if you switch off “Allow users to log into this site using WordPress.com accounts” from Jetpack > Settings > Security in your site’s Dashboard? https://jetpack.com/support/sso/

If not, would you mind switching off modules one-by-one until you find the one causing the conflict? This can be done most easily from the All Modules view: https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpacks-modules-on-one-page/

    Hey James!

Thanks so much for your response. This is SO odd. I’m at a complete loss.

Unfortunately disabling the “allow users to log into this site using WordPress.com accounts” doesn’t change anything. Back when I first encountered the problem, I had several JetPack features enabled, but I’ve since gone ahead and deselected all modules under the Security / Performance / Writing / Sharing / Discussion / Traffic headings. After reading your response, I accessed the “all modules” view and noticed that there were five additional modules noted on that page that were activated (“site stats”, “notifications”, “JSON”, “custom content”, and “contact form”). I disabled all five of those modules so not one module on the whole list was enabled and the problem still persists. I’ve also disabled all other plugins on my site, so I can test everything with just JetPack and Simple Membership enabled. No luck. 🙁

I’m stumped! What else should I try?

    Thank you again!

    Hi again!

So I’ve noticed something that may (hopefully) help solve this problem.

When I’m logged into WordPress and I’m on the WordPress dashboard page, normally my JetPack site stats appear there (I’ve configured my dashboard this way). The site stats appear when I have JetPack enabled (obviously) and when the Simple Membership plugin is disabled. When I enable the Simple Membership plugin, the WordPress dashboard changes; it displays the typical WordPress log-in prompt inside of JetPack’s site stats box (see screenshot link below). I’m thinking there needs to be a bug of some sort here, because the log-in prompt shouldn’t display in the site stats box.

When I disable the “site stats” module within the “all modules” page in JetPack though, the site stats disappear from the WordPress dashboard page (which is to be expected, since JetPack is disabled) but the problem still persists. I know so because within a minute (or if I try to click on any other page within my WordPress account), I’m booted out of WordPress entirely and see the regular log-in prompt on the WordPress redirect log-in page (light grey background with just the WordPress “W” logo, username/email box, and password box).

Here’s a screenshot of what my WordPress dashboard page looks like when I have JetPack and Simple Membership enabled at the same time (showing the log-in prompt in the site stats box): http://prnt.sc/p35tk0

    Until soon!

Yeah, based on that screenshot, this appears to be something caused by Simple Membership.

Would you please share your screenshot with them over at that support thread?
