I have a pre-sales question if a particular problem has been fixed as we would like to use it with PayPal Express Checkout.

On a WordPress meeting some weeks ago I met someone who uses your wholesale premium plugin and explained the usage.
He also pointed on a failure in conjunction with PayPal Express Checkout:

On the checkout page, when on the wholesale user a minimum total amount is set a message is shown that the barrier is not met.
The “Place Order” button for Direct Bank Transfer is removed. However, for PayPal Express Checkout the icons are still shown.

This wouldn’t be an issue when only the checkout page could be reached over the cart page, as the “Checkout” button was removed here.
We would use an Ajax Cart in the menu, which shows also a link to the Checkout page, which will run us into this issue.

Does your plugin remove the PayPal Express Checkout icons when the minimum total amount is not reached on the checkout page, so that no payment can be made?

Are there other ways to circumvent display of checkout payment gateways when minumum total amount is not reached?

  • Hi @garemilo,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

Using our WooCommerce Wholesale Prices Premium, you can force your wholesale users to buy the required minimum order before they purchase their orders.

You can find this setting on WooCommerce > Wholesale Roles, Role Specific Settings – Prevent purchase if wholesale condition is not met in

Regardless of the payment method, they shouldn’t be able to make a purchase until they meet the wholesale requirements and they will see this notice on their cart or checkout page: https://snag.gy/8ijlCb.jpg

I tried testing the free PayPal Express Checkout with our Role Specific Setting, and I’m not able to purchase when the minimum orders are not met.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks for you reply.

A notice was displayed like yours.

I wrote about the icons, i should have been more precise.
It are the PayPal and the credit card buttons. They are displayed after the notice.
Especially the credit card buttons we want to display, as we want to inform the customer they can use credit cards via PayPal.

Within PayPal Checkout configuration: “Use Smart Payment Buttons” and “Enable PayPal Checkout on the cart page” enabled.

When clicking on one of the buttons the customer can fullfill a payment although the minimal order amount requirement is not met.

I hope you can have a second look.

    Hi @garemilo,

I apologize for the delay in response.

If the Paypal Checkout icons are bypassing our restrictions of checking out when the minimum wholesale requirements aren’t met, then I would suggest disabling the feature to prevent the customers from checking out.

If these icons go to a different checkout process than the standard WooCommerce, then I’m afraid that we can’t cover this feature. In addition, we don’t have an integration with them so we can’t guarantee all of the feature’s compatibility.

I would suggest contacting the plugin author of the third-party plugin if they can assist you on this feature as well. If not, I could raise an integration request to our developers but we can’t guarantee to implement nor provide an ETA at the moment.

    Best regards,
