If I use MPN should I disable GTIN? If yes how to do it?

Should I set MPN for mother product or for every variation?

    Regards

  • If you have both MPN’s and GTIN’s I would advise you to add both to your Google Shopping feed in order to increase the changes Google will approve of your products.

All about unique identifiers and why it is so important to Google can be found in this tutorial: https://adtribes.io/i-need-help-with-my-gtins/

Often I only have MPN, so i want use only it.. So how i should do:

    1. Leave two fields ( MPN and GtiN ) and ad all MPN and sometimes Gtin

    2. Use onnly MPN and disable GTIN ( if how to disable Gtin )

Should I add MPN or GTIN to mother products or variants too?

    Regards

Go for option 1. So add both the GTIN and MPN to the feed.

Google assumes that every variant is unique and therefore should have a unique identifier per variant. So yes, ideally you fill in MPN’s and/or GTIN’s for every variant too.

oki.. and if there will be no GTIN just leave MPN? I think maybe half of my products will have only MPN. And is there any sense to add MPN for mother prodycts?

Yes just map and add both the GTIN and MPN to the feed.

There is no use for adding MPN’s to the mother product as mother products itself won’t be in the feed anyhow. Google requires the variants to be in the feed, not the mother.
