Hi @anikacsmedia,
the countdown part is a bit tricky (for now), but you can copy the code from here http://keith-wood.name/js/jquery.countdown-de.js to Giveaways > Settings > Scripts (in the footer) and it should translate the countdown text.
For other parts, you could use translation plugins. This plugin does not have a German translation contribution so for now, only translation plugins that can help with translating such strings can help. Maybe something like this https://wordpress.org/plugins/gettext-override-translations/ (I’ve not tried it).
The layout of the giveaway can be changed only by custom coding a new template (the premium version has a few pre-defined templates). To delete or edit fields, you can use the Giveaway > Settings > Form.
hello, i’m not being able to do this, i want to add portuguese (pt_PT) like you said on Giveaways > Settings > Scripts (in the footer) but it’s not working, did it change on last update?
Hi @unstat1c, I am working on an update 2.21.0 that will fix that issue.
do you have an ETA? or some temporary fix? i need to do a giveaway this weekend.
Have you tried maybe putting it in the header?
yup, the code shows on the background of the website
https://www.netcoregaming.com/?post_type=giveasap&p=5918&preview=true
the code shows on the footer, i presume it’s not how it should work.
Hi @unstat1c, I can’t see it as it is in preview mode. It should not be shown in the footer.
Hi, wrap it inside of <script>... </script>. With the latest version, now you can add various code there. Enabled that if someone beeds custom fb tracking code and similar which may require you to add regular html.
That is why now JavaScript code has to be wrapped with the script tag.
ok, it’s gone from the footer now, but it’s still in english the countdown timer….
Hi @unstat1c,
with 2.21.0 (pushed a few minutes ago), there is a new setting under Settings > Scripts where you can put the full URL to the translation file where the code for translating the countdown is. It will then be applied on the giveaway countdown.
i’m doing something wrong, after the update and the url to the translation it still not working…
im using this translation:
http://keith-wood.name/js/jquery.countdown-pt-BR.js
Hi, is your site using a different language?
It will use that option only if the site is also on a different language.
Also, be sure to refresh the cache of the site or autoptimize, if you are using something like that.
that crossed my mind, my site is pt_PT this translation is pt_BR
