    Hello everyone.

    I found your plugins recently and it could help me on a case, but before that, i want to introduce you to it and ask you this this plugin could help me.

    So, i have a wordpress and my own server where i host my files, and i had trouble with a backup and a lot of files are missing, most of them are images, and that is a big issue for my server performance because a lot of pages try to load a missing file and take a lot of ressources for nothing. Those files missing are not a direct issue because it’s a bunch of old archive pages but they are still pretty much consulted

    So my question is: can Media Cleaner scan my directory, and match it against the Media Library even if the file is missing in the directory? And if not, maybe you have an idea to help me on that?

    Hello,

    Media Cleaner would help you to remove the Media entries in the Media Library for which there are no files anymore.

    But then, your problem here is that you have many links to those photos, and those links are probably hard links written in your posts/pages. For those, the only way would be to use a plugin that detects broken links.

    Thank you very much for your answer and your advices.

    Actually, the plugin you suggested do perfectly the job! That saved me an incredible amount of time to clean that database.
