    Hello WordPress world!

I am a WordPress n00b currently creating my website via Elementor, and I am finding that my background and sections are no longer aligning with my header.

Everything worked perfectly on the first two pages I designed (“Home” and “Contact”), however on the pages I have started working on afterward, everything is shifted to the right. I have checked my settings on the dashboard/WordPress side of things, and they seem to match the other pages that are working correctly.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure if you fixed this already. When you say everything shifted to the right, do you mean the text is in the right column and the picture is in the left? If so it’s because those pages have 2 columns in one section. One image on the top with text below it is one column above another column.
    Hope this makes sense.

    Hi LesTexas60,

Unfortunately, that is not what I mean.

What I mean is that on certain pages, all of the widgets and sections I add are shifted to the right, leaving a grey space at the side of the page. However, this is only happening to the pages I started editing today, and did not happen with the pages happening last night.

    See this page:
    http://jackiedew.com/index.php/home/
The section underneath is perfectly aligned with the header up top.

    Vs. this page:
    http://jackiedew.com/index.php/about/
Where the elements underneath the header have shifted over to the right, and are not correctly aligned with the top.

    Thanks for your help though!

I see what you mean now. Go to the page that is not aligned and check the padding on the left side. Reduce it and you should see the image move to the left. Another option might be the justification, it says “Center” try Left.

    Hi,

I appreciate your help, so very much.
Can you possibly explain to me where I can adjust the justification?
I played around with the padding, however, it only affected the text (ie. the header, the text editor, etc.), but the background(s) remained stationary.

    Thank you so so much.

Try this, Go to your page and click the edit section tab at the top. Your edit column should appear at the left. Choose Advanced. See if the Margins left has a value in it. If so click the unlink icon and reduce the value in the left margin. You should see the box move to the left.

    No bueno :\
I am getting the following reactions:

Heading (the part with the background image) > Edit Section > Edit Column > Advanced
    – 0 Values in Margin (already unlinked)
    – Increase value in “right”

Result: Moves text over to the left

Section below it (with the writing and the image in the columns) > Edit Column > Advanced
    – 0 Values in Margin (already unlinked)
    – Increase value in “right”

Result: Shrinks the column on the left (where the image is)

Same section > Edit Section > Advanced
    – 0 Value in Margin

(cannot edit Left and Right Margins, they are greyed out to “Auto”)

    – Tried increasing the padding value in “right”

Result: Again, shrinks the column, and moves all the text over to the left.

    Sighhh. -_-
Again, I really appreciate your help.
    Thank you, so much.

I think you are editing the column and not the section. Go to the top tab where it says “Edit SEction” when you hover over the dots in the tab.

It looks like your section is not aligned with your header. THat’s where the margins or padding can move everything.

As mentioned above, when I go to Edit Section > Advanced, the left/right margins are greyed out to “Auto.” Do you know if there is any way to fix this?

I took a screenshot for you to see:

    Thanks again!

I’m looking at your site in inspector to see if I can find the correct setting.

If you go to the section edit and click layout. Is it boxed or full width?
    What theme are you using?

I had it as boxed- I just changed it to Full Width, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

    I’m using OceanWP.

The images are Background images , correct?

Yup, the image behind the “About Me” is a background to the Header.
