    Hi,
We are trying to configure the WC-Vendors so that users can apply to become a vendor (the page where they tick a box to apply to be a vendor) however when I check the box, it does not save the setting when I refresh the page.

    My actions are as follows:
    1. WP-Admin page
    2. WC-Vendors >> Settings (see This page)
    3. Check the box ‘Allow users to apply to become a vendor’
    4. Click save
    5. Refresh the page

And then the checkbox magically unticks itself?

    Please assist why this happens.

    Thanks,
    PicFlick

  • Hello,

Does this happen when you’re only running the bare essentials?

    WooCommerce
    WC Vendors
    Storefront theme

Sometimes plugins and or theme configs can interfere with things.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hi Jamie,

    Thanks for the response.

We managed to work out that the WooCommerce Multivendor Membership
plugin is causing this issue. I deactivated that plugin and then successfully retained the setting of “Allow users to apply to become a vendor” (WC-Vendors plugin). After which I reactivated the Multivendor plugin, and upon returning to the WC-Vendors/Settings page the option was deactivated?!?!

Since these plugins are both created by WC-Lovers, could you kindly investigate and advise how we can make them compatible – it is essential for our business that we have a marketplace where people can subscribe to becoming vendors and immediately start uploading content to sell…. Unless you have a different way for us to achieve this 🙂

    Thanks in advance.

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

WC Vendors is not created by WC Lovers, I am the only developer of this product. There is no connection with that developer in any shape or form. They are a completely unaffiliated company developing software that relies on mine to make a buck. All the while continually causing support issues for me and my staff.

My suggestion is to choose software that isn’t so poorly written. I may be sounding a bit snarky, however they continue to cause issues, have been caught spamming my users and generally choose poor tactics to run their company and promote their products. I do not reward bad behaviour.

If you want to sell vendors memberships any of the other actual membership plugins out there will do the job.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hi Jamie,

Thanks for clarifying that – appreciate the honesty in your response.

No problem, we would like to use reliable software for our website as well, hence happy to adhere to your advice and switch marketplace plugins. Is WC-Marketplace a good alternative.

Jamie, we would appreciate your advice as to what plugin tech-stack we should install to our wordpress site. Basically we want to have an ecommerce website where customers can buy products from vendors (multi-vendor marketplace right?) but our vendors will register by subscribing to our website (hence us requiring some sort of subscription plugin to meet this use case as well).

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks,
    PicFlick

    Hello,

I think you misunderstood me. I am the developer of WC Vendors and the founder of WC Vendors. This is the marketplace plugin you should be using. I’m recommending that you don’t use any products from WC Lovers. They have nothing to do with me or my products and as you have discovered, don’t build very good products.

I would recommend a tech stack like this

    WC Vendors
WC Vendors Pro ( for a better front end interface for your vendors as well as many other great features )
Any of the available membership plugins for WordPress such as
Memberpress or Paid Memberships pro or any of those highly rated plugins.

    cheers,

    Jamie.
