Woocommerce slow down my site

Hello, we want to sell products throught Woocommerce but there is a problem.. Anytime I activate woocommerce plugin, the loading times go from 1 second to 15-20, http://tools.pingdom.com says its “waiting” , what could be wrong?

Sorry to see it slowing down your site, but it’s really hard to say why just from the little info you’ve shared with us so far. 🙂
If you can activate WooCommerce again we could take a look at some things that are taking awhile to load. Also, if you can activate it again send us the system status here.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.I cant turn the plugin on since it makes my site unusable… However I can turn it on during night since we dont have nearly any visitors during time 1:00-5:00 which is also the time I try to debug the problem… But nothing is working .. Okay so I might found something interesting…We are using caching plugin for wordpress called WP Rocket.. It seems to me like it struggles to make the first cache file for a specified page once the woocommerce plugin is activated ? It takes 20 sec to make the file and then the page is ok. But since we have 100+ pages I cant just go and preload all everytime cache is cleaned… WP rocket Preload doesnt do the job
@stirlingite – could you perhaps make a staging site to run some tests on? Can you reproduce the long loading times with only WooCommerce activated?
I would perhaps appriciate online support lets say via skype, where someone from support can talk to me and see what is happening online? I can not let the woocommerce plugin activated as its slowing the site to the point its unusable.
Hi there,
If you can set up a staging site using a plugin like WpStaging ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/ ) you can then duplicate your current installation, activate WooCommerce, and then run the needed tests to isolate the root cause of the issue here.
Once the staging site is set up, you can disable your other plugins and determine which plugin is causing the conflict that is impacting your site speed.
Hello, I know its the woocommerce plugin which is causing the problems becouse just when I activate woocommerce this starts to happen… I can download the whole site throught FTP, and then run it localy throught XAMPP … Should the loading times stay same even thought its on local server ?

It’s hard to say for certain because your local setup may have a very different technology stack than the live site environment. So the issue may not happen on your local site, but it is certainly worth a try.
The plugin Kenin mentioned will create a copy of your site on the same server. That is more likely to be able to replicate it, but at the same time would bring down the staging and live site since they are on the same server.
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
No its not resolved…And I have not the possibility to create staging site, just work on the one I have now… I may provide you with more information if needed…It seems to me that it has some problem creating the cache for the first time… Iam using wp-rocket caching plugin….so the first load (creating of cache) takes 15-25 sec … Then its absolutelly normal…Its just the first time load..
@stirlingite How many products and/or variations do you have in your store? Also, we have asked for a System Status Report, but have not received a copy as of yet. This can be found under WooCommerce > Status and can be copied and pasted from there.
