After installing and activating plugin “Notification – Custom Notifications and Alerts for WordPress” my dashboard disappeared, I got the following error, and my website was inoperable:

Fatal error: Can’t inherit abstract function BracketSpace\Notification\Interfaces\Receivable::parse_value() (previously declared abstract in BracketSpace\Notification\Abstracts\Recipient) in /var/www/vhosts/[domain name]/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/notification/class/Abstracts/Recipient.php on line 15

Since the dashboard was inaccessible, from the Plesk control panel I deactivated and uninstalled the plugin Notification but the fatal error persisted. I found the plugin folder notifications persisted in the plugins folder, so I renamed it to badnotifications.

Whenever I try to activate or inactivate any other plugin, the error returns and I have to go into Plesk control panel to activate or inactivate.

I acted with some panic so I might have confused some of these steps.

    Thanks!

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

sorry the plugin broke your WordPress!

It’s because you have very old PHP version on your server. You need at least PHP 5.3.9 to use this plugin. I updated the requirement in the code and it will be released shortly.

Please, contact your host provider and ask for PHP upgrade.
