No restore button after backup completes
-
We have the paid version.
However, ever since we started using BackupGuard we have been getting Timeout Errors; subsequent to that I contacted our hosting provider, and the they said they cannot up the timeout settings.Next, I followed the instructions that said..
//QUOTE
try to activate the “Reloads enabled” option in the settings (to compress your data chunk by chunk). Then disable any security plugin which could prevent nopriv ajax calls and try again to create a new backup. If you still see this error, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you figure it out ASAP.
//END QUOTEThat did not work either.
Although there is a backup being created on the local server, there is no way to restore from that backup – since BackupGuard Pro is not providing the restore button next to the backup.Also, the automatic backups always fail – the only way to have it make a successful backup is to tell it to do a manual backup.
But even when I do that, I tried downloading the .SQL backup file to my server using my FTP client, and it reports the file does not exist! Also, there is not a compressed backup file that I can make out there. So there’s no way for me to manually restore the site from the backups it claims to have saved.Right now I am resorting to manually downloading the wp-content, wp-config, and (using phpmyadin) the SQL files to my home computer using my own FTP client to do so.
What’s the point of haveing BackupGuard if I have to resort to this method?
What’s the point of using BackupGuard if the scheduled backups do not work.I also don’t appreciate that I have to use this forum, on the hope that you will deem this post worthy of your attention. Not when we are Pro users of the plugin!
I will not re-up once our subscription is up, unless this is resolved.
You should try to reach me for further communications via my normal email address, at mendocinotim (at) gmail.com – or you can call me (I will give you a number via email, if you email me).
Thank you.
