The latest update of this plugin seems to be broken, any previously marked free download is now going through the basket/checkout process. This never happened before, please fix.

    Version installed is: 3.0.91

Hello mate I’ve had another report like this. Haven’t been able to reproduce it myself yet so I’ll be investigating more later today. Leave it with me.

Version 3.0.8 was fine and worked as it has always worked, very strange!

Hi mate here’s a screenshot from my bare-bones test site. Working fine. Have you checked the plugin settings are all ok?

The plugin settings have not been changed, so unless the latest update reset/broke them, they are fine. Here a screen shot from my site, showing the problem:

    Hope this helps?

Have you gone through those settings though mate? Checked it’s not set to allow selected files only, or login, membership settings etc. I’ve just updated my demo site to the latest version using the normal WordPress updater and haven’t got that problem.

Also what version of WooCommerce are you running mate?

Checked the settings and “selected files only” is enabled, as it always has been.

Tried disabling it and the problem still exists. I’m using the latest version of Woocommerce (3.3.3)

Go into the product mate and check to make sure it is selected to download. Maybe reset that as well if needed (uncheck, save, recheck).

The settings layout did change but the setting names should be the same so it should work. Worth trying anyway.

Products are set as Downloadable and Virtual, none of these have been changed for months, the problem ONLY started when I upgraded your plugin to 3.0.91 (from 3.0.8)

I guess I will either roll back to 3.0.8 or disable your plugin as you can’t reproduce it, but I and at least one other person can….

    (@rwebster85)

Did you check the product itself is ticked to allow free download? It’s not about what has or hasn’t changed for months. There’s a new version so a chance something has changed from this plugin that isn’t reflected in your old data. Such as products not being ticked.

If you untick the “selcted only” in the main plugin settings do the products then work?

    Richard,

As I previously stated I tried disabling “selected only” saving , etc. trying again to select a free item from my shop, it just adds it to the basket, which is not what it used to do.

There is NO free download button in the product page any more, so that may be the issue, have you changed the product page logic/code?

    (@rwebster85)

Have you got a link to a product page that should be free I can check?

    Thread Starter ttoaster

    (@ttoaster)

    Yes, here: https://talkytoaster.me.uk/product-category/free/

All of the products on this page are free and they all used to work just fine with version 3.0.8…

Same thing happening here with me.

Checked all settings already mentioned in this thread, and product has both downloadable and virtual checked (tried disabling, saving, and re-setting them).

One thing I’ve noticed is that I previously had the price field on the product page as NULL. The problem I have is that there is no “add to cart” or “download now” button showing, so I tried populating the price field with 0. This caused the “add to cart” button to show up, but not the “Download now” button.

Running WordPress 4.9.4, WooCommerce 3.3.3, StoreFront 2.2.8, and FreeDownloads 3.0.91.

    Richard,

It would be useful if you could share a link to version 3.0.8 so that those of us that are affected can roll-back to that version until you can identify the issue and fix it?
