I think I’ve managed to track down the solution. The code revisions allowed for greater flexibility, performance, and security, and made heavy use of the filters and actions system WordPress offers.
It seems on some setups the hooks aren’t being registered where they are currently, but if they’re moved they work. So I’ll be making some changes and uploading a new version soon. Need coffee…

Updated and activated, a quick test seems to indicate it is working as before (3.0.8), I’ll give it a more thorough test shortly.

Yes, it seems to fix the issue, I now have the “Download Now” button back for my free products, and in the product page I see the ” Allow download without checkout” check box again (which was missing in 3.0.91). Excellent!

Ok guys uninstall the plugin I gave you and download it properly from WordPress.org again. Version 3.0.92 is live.
