WP/LR Sync

Description

Synchronize your photos, collections, keywords and metadata between Lightroom and WordPress. You can link meta fields from Lightroom to those in WordPress (Title, Description, Alt) and also keep it in sync. Any changes in your Lightroom will be replicated in your WordPress. Basically this is not a problem anymore when you change your watermark, the quality of your photos, the post-processing or information, it’s all one-click away. The introduction tutorial is here: http://meowapps.com/wplr-sync/tutorial/.

INSTALLATION. This plugin requires the WP/LR Sync plugin for Lightroom available on http://meowapps.com/wplr-sync.

SUPPORT FOR THEMES AND GALLERY PLUGINS. If you are using specific gallery plugins or photography themes, WP/LR Sync can bring all the power of Lightroom to them, magically, seamlessly. You will be free to choose the theme or gallery plugin you like the best and even switch between them. WP/LR Sync has a built-in extensions system so that you can extend it easily and support specific themes and plugins. A powerful extension called “Post Types” is already included and probably does everything you need.

GALLERIES BASED ON YOUR LIGHTROOM KEYWORDS AND COLLECTIONS. You can use attributes (collections=’…’, keywords=’…’) in the standard WP Gallery shortcode to link your galleries to your collections and keywords in Lightoom dynamically. No need to have a specific plugin or anything, it works naturally with WordPress. The Meow Gallery is recommended to enhance your galleries with better layouts and options.s

ABOUT PREVIOUSLY UPLOADED IMAGES. Do you have many photos in your WordPress already and they are not linked with your Lightroom? No problem, WP/LR Sync can do that too. Using EXIF and image perceptual analysis, the plugin will help you linking them through a process call Total Synchronization or you can do it manually. The process is explained here: http://meowapps.com/wplr-sync/total-synchronization/.

SWAPPING PHOTOS. You are using a certain photo everywhere but you now have a better one? From Lightroom, you can swap one photo to another and this will be replicated automatically on your WordPress. You have nothing else to do. The module is called “Switch Photos” in Lightroom.

MOBILE APP. There is a free iPhone app available on the iTunes Store! You can use it to see your photos uploaded on your WordPress categorized by folders and collections in a beautiful way.

UNIQUE AND POWERFUL PLUGIN. I am myself an user of this plugin and even though it is the only one, I want to make it better every day. If you have issues, frustrations, or anything to say, contact me. I will work hard to make it even more awesome.

Reviews

Does exactly what you need, perfectly!

Set up collections in Lightroom. Publishing to WordPress builds parallel WordPress repository. Link the to your collections in WordPress to build galleries automagically, or link to pages with only slightly less automagic.

If you reedit a Lightroom image in a collection, or add an image, all you have to do is hit the publish botton and voila, done!

A few other goodies include: Ability to switch your “new/better” image quickly, automatically. Ability to work with non-standard post types. Ability to match unlinked images on WordPress with Lightroom counterpart to aid in relinking.

I integrated it with Real Media Library based on Jordy’s thumbs-up, and have not been disappointed, but it’s not necessary, you can use WordPress’ gallery.

Jordy’s gone the right path by funneling upward into the standard WordPress model – which means no hair-pulling snags! In short, WP/LR is a godsend that works smoothly and perfectly. Anyone using a non-trivial number of Lightroom images will love this plugin.

Great Plugin, Great Support

I discovered this plugin like a year ago and I had a few issues with security measures on my website. I contacted Jordy via http://meowapps.com/ and he replied literally five minutes later (he has to be awake all night in Japan to ensure such a support; I suppose).

The plugin just got better and better and after heavy use in a few of my clients websites; I can honestly say: This plugin is the greatest relief for any photographer who wants to upload his pictures to WordPress plus it works just fine with Real Media Library, another great plugin I can only recommend if you have to dig yourself through tons of images daily.

Thanks, Jordy!

Impeccable support

I installed the new LR/WP 3 and had several incompatibility problems with other plugins (Jetpack and Multilanguage). I know of this incompatibility because Jordy, the developer, dedicated the needed time to solve the problems. My connection through Lightroom and WordPress is now working fine and I really appreciate the dedication of Jordy.

The Best LR to WP Sync Tool Out There!

I purchased a one year license and really enjoyed using WP/LR Sync so much, I opted for a Lifetime License when it was time to renew. Why did I do this? Because not only is WP/LR Sync an outstanding tool for photographers running Lightroom and WordPress sites, but the customer service is outstanding! I wanted to show my support to Jordy and send a little love to help keep the lights on.

Great easement for photographers!

I have lots of photo files on my website and I nearly went insane with WordPress, which has no logical file structure and the exchange of already uploaded pictures is laborious.
With this plugin I feel in heaven and I’m pleased to tell you why 🙂
An example: I have an already uploaded picture on my wordpress site and then I decide to change something on this pic. The only thing I have to do is to change this in Lightroom. – Finished! Because WP/LR Sync recognizes when I change something on an already uploaded picture and transfers the changes automatically to my WordPress site! Wohoo! I don’t have to exchange a modified file by myself anymore. – So time saving! No more annoying procedures!

And WP/LR Sync is able to cooperate with another helpful plugin, called WP Real Media Library. This plugin allows you to create a file directory tree like in windows explorer, in order to have a smart/logical organization of your files in folders. WP/LR Sync uploads the files into your created file structure automatically. As WordPress doesn’t allow any logical file structure this is another big advantage and very time saving.

And last but not least: I got a quick and friendly support during the installation process as well. The installation process was tricky, as my Lightroom didn’t connect with WP/LR Sync in the beginning. The reason was another plugin (WP-SpamShield) and Jordy helped me to fix the problem soon.

This plugin is simply a Must Have for photographers and works perfectly. – Nothing more to mention.
