  3. Add your first note via the ‘Add note’ button by clicking on the ‘Add note’ button in the top admin bar on your admin dashboard.
How can I add a new note?

A new note can be added in two ways.

  • There is a ‘Add note’ button is located in the top admin bar
  • Or you can add a new note from within an existing note. When hovering over a note there will show an black bar at the bottom of that note. There is an ‘+’ within that bar where you can add a new note.
Can I change the colors

You could change the colors by overriding the style from another stylesheet. If you need help with this, ask in the support forums.

How can I add my own colors?

Add the following code to your functions.php, you can change the values of course to your own colors.

Required:

add_filter( 'wpdn_colors', 'wpdn_add_purple' );
function wpdn_add_purple( $colors ) {

    $colors['purple'] = '#5236A0';

    return $colors;

}

Optional:
You can add the following code for extra styling (e.g. light text instead of dark)

add_action( 'admin_head', 'wpdn_add_style' );
function wpdn_add_style() {

    ?><style>

        /****************************
         * purple
        ****************************/
        [data-color-text=purple] {

Very useful and essential

It’s a great tool, easy to use with a very light feeling.
On me it has a real power of quietude when my head is on fire when the labour is challenging.
For the way i use it, only one option is missing. The possibility to show the list in a reversed order ?

Thanks a lot for this little pearl.

How to make a donation ?

Security issue

This was great and I’ve used it for some time BUT I recently created a photo library where photographers could create accounts and upload pictures and although the wordpress dashboard is hidden from them, WP Dashboard Notes was not and revealed the mosts sensitive data that I had stored including Amazon S3 server logins and paypal account information.

BEWARE of using this for anything at all sensitive or secure…it’s not.

It’s not just admins that can see the notes, all users can!!!!

Simple and perfect

Once I figured out how to use it (after about 5 mins) I loved this plugin.
Please continue supporting it for us!

So Handy!

I usually save my ‘to-do list’ and ‘blog ideas’ in a draft email in Outlook, and I often want to look at those items when Outlook isn’t running. This saves me the hassle, plus my lists are just right there in one place for a particular website. It’s just so simply wonderful. (Yeah, it’s the little things in life!)

Thanks, a bunch WP Dashboard Notes! 🙂

Very Useful Plugin

Since I found this plugin our web team can follow a custom pre-launch TO-DO list very easy so we can be sure all important jobs where made. 🙂

Thank you very much!
Victoria
