Description
Trackum by ARAVILO sets up website tracking for small businesses: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Meta, tested and privacy friendly.
This plugin does exactly one thing: it adds your Google Tag Manager container to every page of your website (in the head and right after the opening body tag).
- Click “Connect now” under Settings Trackum and it fetches the container of your Trackum order. No copy and paste.
- You can also enter the container ID (GTM-…) by hand under Settings Trackum.
- No tracking happens through the plugin itself. What is measured is configured in your own Google Tag Manager container, which belongs to you.
External services
This plugin connects to the Trackum service (dienst.trackum.app) to look up the Google Tag Manager container that belongs to your website.
- When: only after an administrator asked for it, by clicking “Connect now” under Settings Trackum or “Connect WordPress” in Trackum. If no container is found yet, it retries hourly for at most 7 days. Activating the plugin alone sends nothing. Once connected, no further requests are made.
- What is sent: the address of your website (home URL) and a random one-time code. The Trackum service then asks your website’s REST API (/wp-json/trackum/v1/pruefung) whether exactly this code is active, to verify that the request really came from your website. The endpoint only answers yes or no for a code that is sent to it, never lists codes, and a confirmed code is used up immediately.

FAQ
-
Do I need a Trackum order?
-
For connecting automatically, yes. Without an order you can still enter any Google Tag Manager container ID by hand.
-
What about consent?
-
Use Google Tag Manager with Consent Mode and your cookie banner. Trackum configures this for you as part of the order.

- Settings page: link to the free Trackum check for your website.
- Uninstalling also removes the strict privacy mode setting.
1.5.1
