Project Panorama is designed to communicate project progress to your clients and team members. By giving parties a visual indication of project progress, you reduce the number of “where are things at?” calls and e-mails.
Panorama allows you to detail important project details including overall project status, project phases, documents and document status, key milestones and timing.
Panorama automatically calculates the time elapsed against the total project progress allowing you to see if you’re behind or on schedule.
Instead of sending clients to a list of tasks that have been completed or not, give them a progress bar with key milestones that indicate how the project is progressing.

- Upload ‘project-panorama-lite’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- Click on the new menu item “Projects” and create your first project
- Projects have progress bar, phases, milestones, start / end date, documents and descriptions
You can restrict access to projects by making them private or password protected by changing the project visibility in the publish metabox.
Using Your Own Theme
Panorama by default has it’s own project page theme, this is ensure the best rendering and design across all themes. If you’d rather use your own theme, you can go into Projects > Settings > Appearance and click the “use custom template” option. We recommend using a full width template for best display. Not all themes will render the complex visuals in Panorama equally.
[project_list] – output a list of public projects, options include:
type — specify the slug of a project type defined in Projects > Project Types
status — ‘active’ or ‘complete’ to display completed or active projects
count — number to display before pagination
sort – ‘start’,’end’,’title’. Sort by start date, end date or alphabetically by title. Default is creation date.
[project_status] – embed a project into a page or post
[project_status_part] – embed a portion of a project into a page or post
[before-phase] [/before-phase] – Show content wrapped in shortcode in a phase description before the phase has started.
[during-phase] [/during-phase] – Show content wrapped in shortcode in a phase description after it has started before it has been completed.
[after-phase] [/after-phase] – Show content wrapped in shortcode in a phase description after the phase has ended.
[before-milestone] [/before-milestone] – Show content wrapped in shortcode before milestone is reached
[after-milestone] [/after-milestone] – Show content wrapped in a shortcode after milestone is reached
— INTRO —
I have been an active user of Project Panorama since 2014 and it still is one of the best plugins for project management in WordPress.
With this plugin you can set a project description, add documents which clients can approve or reject, milestones, phases, tasks and comments.
— PREMIUM & FRONT END EDITOR ADD-ON —
Shortly after I decided to upgrade to the premium plugin and on Februari 2017 I decided to try the Front End Editor extension which makes editing project information much easier since you stay in the Project Panorama frontend area.
However at the moment when you use the Front End Editor it loads a new page where you see the same input fields you have when you edit the project in the backend area.
— FRONT END EDITOR SUGGESTION —
So I suggested to the team behind Project Panorama that it would be much easier, quicker and user friendly if you could just change all content in the project view without having to load a new page which shows the fields from the backend instead of the project view.
Now this is only possible for task progress. If you want to change the other content a new page gets loaded on the front end.
Although it would require a lot of work they said this is the ultimate goal of the Front End Editor add-on. I haven’t got an answer yet when this will be out, but their response time is really fast so when I get an update on this I will publish it here.
— Conclusion —
Still Project Panorama with the Front End Editor add-on is really nice and let’s you stay on track. For your clients it is really easy for them to add comments to either a project phase or the comments area at the bottom. But most importantly they can now visually see the project status.
An other point which made me go for this plugin is because I wanted to keep the costs low, the plugin only costs me a one time free of 59 dollars. The Front End extension costs 29 dollars a year but can be cancelled at any time. In comparison to other programs and tools I think this is just plain cheap for anyone who runs a fulltime business. So in my opinion this is really worth the few bucks.
Most project management programs are an overkill for me plus I wanted a nice visual way to keep my clients informed about my progress.

Since I am from The Netherlands I took the time to translate this plugin since it didn’t have a Dutch translation.

— Custom CSS TO MAKE PROJECT VIEW CLEANER —
I also have custom css which can be added to the plugin in the Custom Styling options for the project view to make the page a bit cleaner and to make all distances and spacing equal so it just looks better. If you are interested in this please contact me.

Normally I don’t write plugin reviews often but I really like this plugin and where it’s going. So in my opinion, although there’s still room for improvement, I still think it deserves the 5 stars!

We very quickly realised that it was going to be a pivotal tool for our candidates due to it’s practical nature. Have to say the backup service level was 5 star – thanks for a great experience!
Bought the premium AGENCY version of this plugin and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I am not disappointed. I found it via the Sprout Apps Invoice Plugin and they work VERY well together. I am so happy and excited. This is the exact thing I was looking for with a project management app!

Very easy to use plugin that integrates nicely with Genesis themes. Useful for showing progress with all kinds of projects, not just web design. I bought the Premium version a while ago for the added features and to support development, and I’m very happy Recently requested a feature change, and Ross and his team wrote me an add-on extension in two days. You can’t get better support than that!
This is basically a custom post type with a really handy features. Managing projects involving multiple contributors, assigning tasks and communicating is very easy and useful.
Although one always could wish more features, but it does what it is supposed to do.
This plugin integrated well with my theme and was intuitive to set up. My clients are happy to visually see the progress of their projects which in turn makes my life a lot easier! Contemplating upgrading to the premium version.
