Description
Most small businesses sell through WhatsApp, but nobody knows how many people actually tap the WhatsApp button on their website, or where those people came from.
LVM Chat Click Stats answers that. Install it and it starts counting right away: every link to wa.me, api.whatsapp.com, chat.whatsapp.com or whatsapp:// on your site is tracked, no matter which plugin, theme or page builder created it. It works alongside any WhatsApp chat button plugin you already use.
What you get
- Total clicks, today, average per day, best day and peak hour
- Clicks per day chart (7, 30, 90 or 365 days)
- Where visitors came from: Google, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, direct, other sites
- Which pages generate the most chats
- Which links and buttons get clicked
- Clicks by hour of day and by weekday
- Mobile vs. desktop
- A widget on your WordPress dashboard with this week’s numbers
- CSV export
Campaign links for flyers, QR codes and bios
Add ?cswa_src=flyer (or any name) to your site’s address. Every WhatsApp click made during that visit is counted under that name. Print it as a QR on a flyer, put it in your Instagram bio or in an ad, and finally know which one brings customers.
Optional floating button
If your site has no WhatsApp button yet, you can enable a clean floating one with your number and a prefilled message. If you already have one, just leave it off.

Privacy first
No cookies, no IP addresses, no personal data, nothing sent to external servers. Everything stays in your WordPress database. Clicks by administrators are ignored by default, and old data is deleted automatically after the number of days you choose. Your statistics are kept if you uninstall and reinstall the plugin, unless you choose otherwise in Settings.
Lightweight
One small script (under 3 KB) on the front end, no jQuery, no external requests. The admin pages use plain SVG charts.

Installation
- Upload the plugin to
/wp-content/plugins/or install it from the Plugins screen. - Activate it.
- That’s it. Go to WhatsApp Clicks in the admin menu to see the statistics.
By default, clicks by logged-in administrators are not counted. To test, open your site in a private window and click a WhatsApp button.
FAQ
-
Yes. It counts clicks on any link to WhatsApp, whoever created it: Joinchat, Click to Chat, Elementor, Bricks, Divi, a plain link in your menu. It also catches buttons that open WhatsApp with
window.open(). -
Two usual reasons. Administrators are ignored by default (Settings Ignore administrators): use a private window, or turn that option off. And if your site uses a cache plugin or Cloudflare, clear the cache once after activating, so the pages are served with the tracking script.
-
Add the attribute
data-cswa-label="Business name"to the link. In a page builder you can use dynamic data, e.g.data-cswa-label="{post_title}"in Bricks, so every listing reports its own name. -
Does it count the click as a conversation?
-
It counts the tap on the button, i.e. the intention to chat. It cannot know whether the person then sent a message, because that happens inside WhatsApp.
-
Does it store personal data?
-
No. It stores the clicked link, the page, the referring site category, the device type and the time. No IPs, no cookies, no names.
-
Does it slow down my site?
-
No. One tiny script loads at the end of the page and sends a request only when a WhatsApp link is clicked.
-
Can I track a printed flyer or a QR code?
-
Yes. Link the QR to
https://yoursite.com/?cswa_src=flyer. Every WhatsApp click during that visit is attributed to “flyer”. -
Is there a Pro version?
-
Not yet. This free version is complete and has no limits.
