Blackaha Pricing Updater for WooCommerce

Description

Blackaha Pricing Updater for WooCommerce lets your pricing service set product prices in your store. The service sends a SKU and a new price; the plugin finds that product by its SKU, sets the price, checks the result and answers whether the price is now in effect.

Setting it up is one click: press Connect, approve the connection in your BlackAha account, and you are brought back to your store, connected. There is nothing to copy and nothing else to configure.

What it does

  • Connects in one click: approve once in your BlackAha account, no keys to copy.
  • Updates the price of simple products and product variations, matched by SKU.
  • Respects a running sale: a new price below the regular price becomes the sale price and the regular price is kept; a new price at or above the regular price replaces it and ends the sale.
  • Confirms every update: a price is only reported as applied after it has been read back from the store.
  • Accepts signed requests only. Every request is verified with your signing secret, must be recent, and cannot be replayed. The webhook address itself is random and unique to your store.
  • Applies each update exactly once, even if the same update arrives more than once.
  • Shows the connection status and the most recent price updates under WooCommerce > Pricing Updater.

What it deliberately does not do

The plugin refuses an update, and says why, rather than guess:

  • It does not convert currencies. The price must be in your store currency.
  • It does not round. The price must fit the number of decimals your store uses.
  • It does not pick one of several products sharing a SKU. The SKU must identify exactly one product.
  • It does not set a price on a variable product. Use the SKU of the variation.

Requirements

  • WooCommerce 8.0 or newer.
  • A site served over HTTPS.
  • An account on the pricing service.

External services

This plugin connects your store to BlackAha (https://app.blackaha.com), the pricing service that sends the price updates.

When you press Connect, the plugin contacts BlackAha from your server to open the connection and, after you approve it in your BlackAha account, to receive the signing secret. In doing so it sends your site’s address and the addresses of its own endpoints on your site. Nothing else is sent at any other time; the plugin never contacts BlackAha on its own.

From then on, BlackAha calls the webhook endpoint on your site to deliver price updates. Each request is authenticated with your signing secret. The plugin answers with, for each update received: the identifier of the update, whether it was applied, the price now in effect, the WooCommerce product ID, and, when the update was not applied, the reason. No customer or order data is ever read or sent.

FAQ

Which products can be updated?

Simple products and variations that have a SKU. The SKU must be unique in your store.

Which price is changed?

For a product that is not on sale, the regular price. For a product on sale, a new price below the regular price is written as the sale price, keeping the regular price and the sale schedule; a new price at or above the regular price replaces the regular price and removes the sale.

A price update was not applied. Why?

The reason is listed under WooCommerce > Pricing Updater, in Recent price updates, and is reported back to your pricing service. The usual causes are an unknown or duplicated SKU, a different currency, or more decimals than your store uses.

The connection does not complete. What should I check?

  • The site is served over HTTPS at its public domain; the pricing service does not connect to local or private addresses.
  • No security plugin, firewall or cache blocks, alters or caches requests to /wp-json/pricing-updater/v1/. The REST API must be reachable without logging in.
  • The clock of your server is correct.
  • If you connected manually: the webhook URL was used exactly as shown and the signing secret was pasted completely, with no spaces.

Is the signing secret safe?

It is stored in your site’s database and is never displayed. Reconnecting issues a new secret and a new webhook address, so the previous ones stop working at once. To stop accepting price updates, use Disconnect.

Can I protect some products from being updated?

Yes, with the pricing_updater_allow_price_update filter. Return false, or a string with the reason, for the products that must keep their price.

What happens to my data if I delete the plugin?

Deleting the plugin removes its settings and its records of received updates. Product prices stay as they are.
