Description
Promvia shows you two things most analytics tools miss:
- AI visitors — which assistant (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, Meta AI) sent each visitor, and what they did on your site.
- Citations — whether those assistants mention or cite your site when people ask the questions your buyers ask, checked on a schedule, with the sources they cite instead of you.
This plugin does four small jobs:
- Adds the Promvia pixel to your pages (one
<script>tag, loadeddefer), with an option to wait for statistics consent through the WP Consent API. - Prints a verification meta tag so Promvia can confirm you own this domain — no DNS record needed.
- Creates an application password for Promvia so it can save draft posts to this site (drafts only; nothing is published without you).
- Optional — serves the fixes you approve in Promvia without code: Organization structured data (JSON-LD) in your pages’
<head>, your/llms.txt, and therobots.txtlines that let AI search crawlers in. Every visitor sees the same page; nothing is shown only to crawlers.
You need a Promvia account at https://promvia.app. The free plan covers one site and five tracked questions, checked automatically once a month on one AI engine. Paid plans add engines, questions and sites. Promvia does not guarantee any ranking or citation outcome.
Third-party service
This plugin loads https://promvia.app/snippet.js on your public pages, and that script sends page-view events (URL, referrer, a first-party visitor cookie, user agent) to promvia.app, a service operated by Atlaven. No data is sent until you enter a Promvia site id in Settings Promvia. See the Promvia privacy policy at https://promvia.app/privacy and terms at https://promvia.app/terms. The settings page itself makes no request to promvia.app.
If you paste an “Approved fixes feed” address, your server fetches that address on promvia.app at most every ten minutes to read the fixes you approved. That request comes from your server, not your visitors, and sends nothing about them — only the standard request headers WordPress sends. No request is made until you enter a feed address.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin.
- In Promvia (https://promvia.app/sites), open your site and copy its site id (
site_…). - In WordPress go to Settings Promvia, paste the site id, and save.
- Ownership: usually nothing to do — once the pixel is on your home page, Promvia verifies the site by itself. If you load the pixel only after consent, open your site in Promvia Sites “Meta tag”, copy the tag, paste it into Settings Promvia “Verification token”, save, then press “Verify ownership” in Promvia.
- Optional — to let Promvia save drafts: on Settings Promvia press “Create an application password for Promvia” (HTTPS required) and copy the three values into Promvia Settings Integrations WordPress.
- Optional — to publish approved fixes without code: on a fix page in Promvia open “Publish without code”, copy “Your feed address”, paste it into Settings Promvia “Approved fixes feed”, and save.
FAQ
-
Does the pixel slow my site down?
-
It is one small script loaded with
defer, after your page has rendered. It sets a single first-party cookie. -
Will it track me while I edit?
-
By default, no: logged-in users who can edit posts are not tracked. You can turn that off.
-
If your consent plugin exposes the WP Consent API (Complianz, CookieYes, Cookiebot and others), tick “Load the pixel only after the visitor consents” and the pixel waits for statistics consent. Without the API, that box means “never load”.
-
What happens to robots.txt and llms.txt?
-
Only what WordPress itself serves changes. If your host keeps a real
robots.txtorllms.txtfile on disk, the web server serves that file and this plugin leaves it alone — add the lines by hand there. In robots.txt only the rules that block the approved AI search crawlers change; every other rule, comment and Sitemap line stays. Training crawlers stay as you set them. -
What if Promvia is down?
-
The plugin keeps serving the last fixes it read. When you stop publishing a fix in Promvia, the plugin stops serving it within about fifteen minutes. When you make a new feed address in Promvia, the old one stops working: paste the new one here.
-
Can I ask Promvia from ChatGPT or Claude?
-
Yes. The same data this plugin collects can be read from ChatGPT (Promvia is in ChatGPT’s plugin directory), Claude and other assistants that connect to an MCP server. Sign in with your Promvia account, say “promvia list” to see your sites and “promvia select” followed by a site to choose one; each answer then names the site it is about. -
What does uninstalling remove?
-
The
promvia_settingsoption and the plugin’s cached copy of your approved fixes. The plugin creates no tables and schedules nothing.
