Wanted something to make my Trackback/Pingback links open in a new window.
Installed this plugin.
All external links now opened in the same window, even with 'target"_blank"' added.
Repaired broken images.
Back to normal and looking for a non-anti plugin.
Works well and do what it says
Works well with WP 4.1.1 using the real estate them Freehold. I had to select "All Contents" for the plugin to work though. When I first selected "All Text Widgets," nothing worked... my RSS feeds didn't open to a new tab. But when I selected "All Contents," the RSS feeds opened in a new window, I saw the little icon, but my Posts were not affected - which is good as I don't want my posts to open in a new window. So I guess the plugin is a little buggy, but it still works and offers a lot of options, which is why I'm still giving it 5 stars!
Plugin does the job which, at least from my perspective, seems like a simple thing (and I think thath WordPress should include these kinds of things by default).
The only drawback is that P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) tells me that the runtime of this plugin is 0.35 sec, which is 63% percent of all 18 plugins I have. So, probably it could be better optimized.
Plugin no longer works and support does not exist.
Support seems to be lacking. As of today, 2 out of 9 issues have been resolved in the last 2 months? Seems 30 minutes ago a response was made on post from 1 month ago. Free plugin or not, there are bugs (including getting resolutions). You get what you pay for right?
helping support from a new dady.
so developer is in baby time at the moment. ;-)
Works great. Support fixed my problem quickly. Recommend this plugin.
Very nice plugin thank you :)
However, I have modified it to extend its functionality + fix some bugs please check my article here if you want to encrypt your links rather than just encode them which is not secure.
Our ADA consultant advised that we add external link icons throughout our site to make it easier to navigate for people with disabilities. This seemed a daunting task until we found WP External links! This plugin has many more features we will probably use eventually, but ADA accessibility was our main goal. Initially, we had a bit of trouble getting the plugin to work out of the box, but it turned out to be an issue with the Nano3 theme that we were able to reconcile. A tip if you use anchor links - the current version of the plugin needs the full URL or it counts the anchor link as an external link. Support was speedy in helping us figure this out. I would recommend this plugin to anyone looking to retrofit their site to be ADA-friendly and automate the process of labeling external going forward.
