Looking for a plugin to block the bots trying to hack your site with repeated login attempts? This does that and much more. Their newsletter is excellent as well. This plugin is easy to use for the beginner but has depth for those more advanced. Free version is a great tool. The paid version looks like it would be great for sites with more traffic (mine is just a church site).
<3 this plugin!
Cannot rate this plugin higher ,the freemium version is amazing does its job very well and one i use on every wordpress site i create.
I am impressed wit how simple it was to set this up and secure my sites.
I'm impress with this plug in, I highly recommended it to anybody using wordpress!!
No longer recommended. Have had issues last few versions that were never fixed. Constant request for email, constant "start tour" popup in the admin area with every page refresh, can no longer get API keys. Glad I didn't spend money on the premium version, spent it on Bulletproof. Plugin deletion/database cleanout and reinstall does not fix. Try Suvari instead.
I didn't realize how much traffic from sketchy areas was hitting our website. We are really only interested in local traffic so I started manually blocking IP ranges as I saw them, Russia, China, Africa, etc... after a while it was getting old. So I went with the WordFence Premium edition. $5 bucks a month. Went to country blocking, clicked select all, deselected United States, done. That alone is worth the $5 bucks.
I´ve been using this plugin for a while and it seems to work fine, but after the update from 6.1.8 to 6.1.9 it broke my site, frontend and backend. So I´ve had to eliminate it. It´s a pity
Really nice plugin, it helps me a lot, but last update (22.06.2016) doesn't work at all.
It fired me off from admin area after the update! No access to the backend and frontend.
I had to remove the plugin from the server to put my website online.
Waiting for a fixed update ...
If you want to protect your site completely (for free), use this plugin.
P/s: Big thank to Wordfence Security team.
