Plugin seemed to be doing its job very well, until I decided to do a bulk optimization. While I was in the middle of optimizing, the screen went all weird and when I hit refresh, it took me to the WordPress installation screen. Yeah, my site is gone.
If you really really want want to use this plugin, keep a backup. Otherwise you are done, just like me right now.
I'm thankful for developers for making this available for free, but I think they should address these kinda faults.
This plugin is INSANELY good...! :D I just used it for http://dittejuliejensen.dkAnd the pagespeed-score went up from 51% to 72% :D And I havent even started fixing the cache-problems yet... Fantastic work developer...! Keep it up...! :)
What more can I say. This plugin works great, does EXACTLY as advertised (don't let the bad reviews from folks with improper setups or crappy hosting fool you), and the plugin author genuinely cares. Blazing fast support replies (see the timestamps here - https://wordpress.org/support/topic/please-keep-media-folder-options). You can't get better than this!
Best plugin for optimizing your images, if you ask me.
EWWW image optimizer made me restore my site from backups: after optimizing images it broken every single link to an image in every blogpost (appended many different image filenames to every image path).
This changes are not even "Revision" tracked, so the only way was to restore from backup.
It also have naming issues when "converting jpg to png", "png to jpg", if you choose to restore original files.
I'm still using this addon: it does the job really well. Minifies images automatically. This time I have disabled "png to jpg" etc "difficult" options, fingers crossed it will not kill my site again.
If it will kill it, I have my backups ready. So should you!
Very easy to use. I has improved my loading time greatly. Tried & Loved.
Initially I had an issue with the images losing quality but I've re-installed the plugin and it seems to be OK now.
Google Page Speed improved by 8 points as a result.
Works as advertised.
greatly reduced size.
but it requires phpexec() which isn't included in some free shared hosting.
