In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Other Book Sellers ListedThat’s very strange that it seems to be in some sort of intermediate state where it is showing up as both until you reset it to just Button. We’ve never seen a case like that before and I’m not sure I’d be able to diagnose it without digging a lot deeper into what happened with your particular setup.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Link returns to frontpageThat’s very strange, I’ve never seen a website react like that where it sends you to the home page when you type in the url given as the permalink. It seems that most likely either your theme or another plugin is interfering with your permalinks somehow. I would try disabling all your other plugins and theme and going into your Settings > Permalinks page and hitting “Save Changes” in order to force a refresh of your permalinks. You can then disable them one at a time to determine exactly which one is causing the problem.
I would also try deleting that post with the same url slug, that very well might be interfering with it, though I’m not entirely sure since like I said I haven’t seen a case like this before.
This appears to be caused by another plugin on your website, try disabling all other plugins and see if the problem persists. You can then try disabling them one at a time until you find out which plugin is causing the problem.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Other Book Sellers ListedHi myershenry,
Do you have a link to this page so that we can see exactly what you are referring to?
The “Other Book Sellers” box shows up when you have Buy Buttons set to display as Text Bullets. Go into your book editor and be sure that your Buy Button “Display as” fields are correctly.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Link returns to frontpageThis does appear to be some sort of Permalink problem, which is usually fixed by going and refreshing your permalink settings in WordPress.
The page tries to go to the correct url (http://www.imaginationdarkbooks.co.uk/books/the-love-of-all-things-dark/) but WordPress seems to fail to find this url and instead redirects back to the front page.
When you go to the Love of All Things Dark book editor on the WordPress backend, what does it list as the “Permalink:” value underneath the book title on the book editor page?

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Only one page per one menu? You can categorize your books by creating “Tags” for them. You can see this on the book editor page on the right hand side where you usually find the Post Categories selector, there will be a be a “Tags” box.
You can find a listing of all books with a given tag by going to the “Tags” link on the WordPress menu under the MyBookTable heading, and clicking on the “View” link under the desired tag name.
You can create a link to this tag page by going to your Appearance > Menus page on the WordPress backend and create a custom link using the “Links” option, pasting in the url of the tag page.
Hi rumor_lx,
This looks like some sort of compatibility issue with your theme, I will look into this and see if I can give you some more details about a solution when I get the chance.

Hi contemplate,
Unfortunately there is no way to have the books pop up in a shadow box built into the plugin, adding that would require custom development.
This is an interesting idea though, and we will consider adding it into a future update. I will discuss it with our management and see if we can fit it into an upcoming feature release.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] seo.php fileThanks for reporting this, this is indeed a bug that only seems to crop up when Compatability Mode is turned off. It will be fixed in the next version of MyBookTable that should be released soon.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] facebook icon/link broken. What website is this happening on? The only thing that I can think might cause this is something being strange about your server setup, for example a private server behind a firewall that Facebook does not recognize. But if you’re on a regular server that’s publicly accessible it should be working properly. There’s actually nothing that we can really do to solve this from MyBookTable as the Facebook button is not actually generated by the plugin, we simply query Facebook for a share button customized for your page, and it will return this error if it does not understand the url of your page.

Thanks for your help on this, I added a fix for this which will be included in the 2.1.1 update that should be released soon. Let me know if you continue to run into problems with this after the update.

Hmmm, yes, I see that the book images on your site are the correct dimensions but they are erroneously being cropped for some reason. I’m not quite sure what might cause this, as the cropping for MyBookTable images is explicitly turned off in the code. It’s possible that another plugin on your site or your theme is forcing cropping to be turned on, this is possible to do through WordPress hooks, though it’s very bad practice.
One thing you can try is try downloading a plugin like Regenerate Thumbnails and running it, this will tell WordPress to clear out it’s cache of saved resized images and generate them all again from scratch from the originals. This has sometimes cleared up image size problems in the past. If that does not work I might try disabling your theme and other plugins and running it again, as they seem like the only things that I can think of that may be causing this.

Thanks for the info, we are interested in supporting Divi themes, we actually have it running on one of our websites. I loaded it up with MyBookTable and did some testing and I can’t seem to replicate the problem with the GoodReads review box that you are seeing though, it seems like it must be caused by some particular configuration of the theme that you have on your site.
I would almost certainly be able to get this fixed if I were able to see that page that you linked to, unfortunately it is asking me for a username and password when I try to view it. You can contact me at tim@authormedia.com if you would like to set up some way for me to view this.
Something about the styling of the box is interacting badly with the styling of your theme, it should be much further down and separated nicely. If you can send me a link to the book page I can see exactly what CSS selectors I need to be able to fix this for you and others with themes like yours.
~Tim
The reviews should be showing up at the bottom of the page, below the book details and overview.
Could you send us a link to the book page in question or to a screenshot to help us understand what you’re referring to exactly?
Thanks,
~Tim
