Thanks for your reply. I understand your advice, however, though it may not be clear in my explanation above, there are reasons why I chose to use multisite (aside from actually wanting to try it!). First, it seemed appropriate because the end result is to have both an archive version of the site and a legacy site, and, secondly, the actual site had to remain live while the legacy site was built. The multisite option seemed to fulfil these requirements and I am pretty happy at how easy it was. I did use a plugin to clone the site – ns cloner.
As it is, I managed to fix it as mentioned. I just wanted to know if there could be any issues in the what I have done.

YorickWell, I did end up changing the wpconfig.com multisite settings from http://www.siteurl.com to siteurl.com and… it worked! What a relief.
However, I am worried about the consequences of doing it this way. Any advice would be greatly appreciately.

In reply to: slider issue with Photoria – jquery errorI had the same problem as Rexel99. I didn’t like the idea of using an older version of jquery, so I’ve gone for Photoria 2.0. Bit of a nuisance as it’s set up differently and I’ll have to reconfigure a few things.
Maybe I’ll just get a new theme!
Bodhirezo – thanks for the code update but I couldn’t find the same code to change in the loopedSlider js that I had for Photoria.

Rather than find a new host, I would like to understand why there is an issue either with the memory limit or with repointing in the .htaccess.ini.

I’ve managed to increase the limit by using a php.ini file and .htaccess, but now I’ve got other problems, including not being able to log in to my wp sites!
anyway, probably not your problem. I look forward to trying your plugin again, once this is all resolved.

In reply to: Inviting Contributors, Followers, and ViewersInviting contributors seems to be a feature of wordpress.com not self-hosted sites. I thought same thing and wanted this feature too. I don’t understand why self-hosted doesn’t have it built in. I’m now looking at plugins which use Roles & capabilities but this is a lot more complex than my needs. One is Role scoper.
