This is crazy, anybody has solved this problem, there are many open threads on the forum regarding this problem! I have plenty to read yet but no solution so far.

Hi Robin, I found this problem too, it appears that the plugin doesn’t work properly with permalinks, if you de-activate permalinks it will work fine, but it is not very elegant ;-(
I am trying to contact the developer without much success.
1) This error is still an issue. I have consistently replicated the error and found that “Academic People” plugin does not work properly with Permaliks. There is some kind of problem with handling and creating or finding user sites and delivers 404 error.
Copernicus… when re-intalling the blog did you have permalinks activated? cheers
