Excellent! Thanks again.
Hi there,
Thanks for the helpful pointer, and apologies for my delayed response! (I was offline for a week and am just now getting caught up on everything that piled up while I was away…)
This seems like exactly what we need. Much appreciated.
Just one quick question: Would this be something we could simply add directly into our WordPress functions.php file, rather than adding another plugin onto the site to manage that? It looks like it, at a glance, but I wanted to make sure before attempting to do so…
Thanks again.
Update: It was, in fact, Cloudflare and specifically the Cloudflare proxy setting for the associated domain.
Upon further investigation, we found that disabling proxying for the domain within Cloudflare fixed this and caused the plugin settings to show up normally, as they should. What’s strange, though, is that even after we turned the proxying back on (thinking we’d dig deeper and try to figure out some sort of rule or exception that could allow it to remain on without affecting this), things seemed to stick — and the plugin is still working properly now, without any further adjustments.
Not entirely sure what to make of that, honestly, but it seems pretty clear that the Cloudflare domain proxying was the culprit in one way or another with this.
Thanks again for your help pinpointing the issue and leading us down this path!
Thanks for this, @numbnerd14 — some very helpful clues!
I was hoping to have a resolution to share by now, but as of this moment, we’re still trying to get to the bottom of it. We started with Cloudflare, as that seemed like the logical answer, all considered and with the info you shared in mind — but, alas, we’ve now ruled that out as a variable.
Moving onto the hosting provider next to see if we can find any explanation there.
I’ll update here once I know more, just to (hopefully!) close the loop.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the response, @numbnerd14!
Could you please share your site URL with us so we can check?
Sure — it’s https://theintelligence.com/.
Also, would you be able to check for errors in your browser error console so I can help you?
Well, this is interesting. When I’m on the backend AIOSEO dashboard page, specifically, I’m seeing quite a few errors related to the plugin and assets that are seemingly failing to load:

Sure seems like that could explain this, eh?
Eager to hear your thoughts on what might be going on with all of that and what we could do to resolve it.
Thanks again.
A potentially relevant twist I forgot to mention:
On our staging site — which is a carbon copy of the live site, in terms of the underlying WP setup and all the active plugins — this issue is not occurring.
That makes it even more confusing why we’re having the problem on our live site. I’m completely befuddled!

In reply to: “RSS ERROR – No RSS items found”Are you fetching the RSS feed from the website where the plugin is installed, or from an external website? And can you share the actual RSS feed in question?
Thanks for the reply, George.
It’s from an external website, and the feed involves an API key (as it’s related to a private forum), so I’d need to send it privately as opposed to posting it here.
It’s been suggested to me that this change could potentially be related: https://letsencrypt.org/docs/dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-september-2021/
And upon further investigation, I suspect that’s correct.
As a test, I tried taking the feed and putting it through Feedburner to eliminate the API variable. After that, it worked fine.
And this all started on the same exact morning as that change went through.
Probably not something that affects a ton of people, but it does seem like there’s a decent chance it’s related (and might require a plugin update to be corrected?).

In reply to: “RSS ERROR – No RSS items found”I should add to this: The site in question is a paywalled membership site, so if you need me to provide access or any specifics, let me know, and I can send along the necessary details privately.
Much appreciated!
Thanks for the quick response, Tushar! That absolutely did the trick. What’s strange is that we had never touched that setting before — and it was set to an entirely different color than the one that was being shown on the site now, even — but updating it to the correct hue got things back the way they’re supposed to (and used to) be.
Really appreciate the assistance.
That did the trick! Thanks so much for the speedy response and excellent assistance. Really appreciate it.
Woohoo! This is fantastic. Thanks so much!
Gotcha. Thanks very much — and thanks again, too, for the super-speedy response. Really appreciate everything you’re doing here!
Wow — thanks so much! This is fantastic. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the speedy response and fix.
