I think my prob is resolved. Thank you both (Ross and rolling)Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: localhost – xampp install: trouble displaying imagesrollingWolf – thanks for the sugg … unfortunately the ‘abbreviated’ img didn’t fix the prob.
FC101 – confession … doesn’t show up in whois because it’s only a short form of firechaplain101.org … used only in this forum because I didn’t want to type out the whole name – the true website name is used on the localhost pages..
Your comment
…its more than likely that fc101.org is not pointing to your machine…
is probably right on. firechaplain101.org is an actual website (WP designed – that I inherited)and I’ve since ‘built’ an XAMPP ‘system’ on my PC for the next iteration of firechaplain101.org. Would clearing my FX cache get rid of ‘wrong pointers’? {Just tried, DIDN’T}
The header image is ‘in’ the folder uploads/2015/04 and is displayed correctly but is ‘pointed’ by:
http://127.0.0.1/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/FC101header11.png … tried it and WORKEDForum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: localhost – xampp install: trouble displaying imagesWorking backwards in your response the
href=”/
works.
I’m using FX with fireBug … which I am not experienced using (just to check which elements need to be changed in a custom style.css). Is there an article or write-up describing how to go about finding the cause of this problem?Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

In reply to: localhost – xampp install: trouble displaying imagesThanks RossMitchell for the suggestion, however tried
<img scr="http://fc101.org/wp-content/themes/twentythirteen/images/gene-150x150.jpg" alt="Gene" />but no joy
had also tried
<a href="http://fc101.org/wp-content/themes/twentythirteen/images/gene-150x150.jpg">page</a>before – sorry for not mentioning it.In the Sample page there is code
<a href="http:/wordpress/wp-admin/">your dashboard</a>that works so don’t understand my failure (though don’t know about the http:/ – copied the code so it’s not a typo).Yes – seems to react differently now. Thank you & sorry for false alarm

In reply to: twentyeleven footer always linking to WP even after replacingThank you, laliz
YES, it works – thank you again
I believe your code basically removed the php stmt <?php echo esc_url( __( … ?>. I was trying to preserve all the previous WP code but guess don’t have to ! Why is that?

In reply to: Forum Searching – how toYes James – all searches were done using site:wordpress.org/support/…
site:wordpress.org/support/ wprap works – Thank you
but
site:wordpress.org/support/wprap doesn’t – oh, I see – w/o the blank it becomes part of the URL and thus invalid
SorryIs the a list of the names used for WP forums (e.g. for the Animate It! ‘sub-forum’ is the name /animate-it or animate it or animate it! ??)
using the site: gets around the issues with the WP Forum inconsistencies. THANK YOU

In reply to: Forum Searching – how toThanks for responding James.
Yes, the WP forums
Yes, I’ve used the search box at the upper right
yes, I’ve used site:wordpress.org/support/”search arg”I guess it is what it is … many search results and a matter of luck finding the right one.
Edit: as a further test,I tried searching for wprap posts (my posts)
site:wordpress.org/support/wprap … result – no hits
site:wordpress.org/support/forum/wprap … result – no hits
site:wordpress.org/support/forums/wprap … result – no hits
but when I search in WP.org, get 28 hits … 3 pages worth – but when try to access 2nd page, the search goes to page 1 of the results for search arg “wrap”. Guess I picked the wrong username when I signed up (my initials are RAP so just innocently added WP)
{ps tried search arg “wprap -wrap” … w/o “s – no joy)Thank you – obviously I did something – I’ll try to be more careful
Thank you for responding so quickly.
Renaming an event works just fine
Yes – with new (never used before name)
maybe you renamed the event ID in the database?
Didn’t touch db – not even sure where it is.

Plugin author solved the issue in EME support – best way is to ‘reformat’ display.
