When choosing a location for the translation, choose one of the “Other” options. The one that’s active by default adds translation files in the plugin folder so it would get overwritten on update.

But we will update the template file that’s part of the plugin so it has all the strings so there’s no need to edit and sync it.

As for “posts”, that one comes from the backend settings (Content tab, 5th option), it’s not even supposed to show up as translatable via Loco Translate. We’ll remove it in the next update to avoid confusion.

There’s an update coming tomorrow, we’ll get that sorted out.

In the meantime you can hide the TikTok icon using this (goes in WP Admin > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS):

Just to mention first that our plugin does not modify the permalinks, it just “asks” WordPress what the author archive URL is.

I’ve tried out the “Edit Authors Slug” plugin and it seems that there’s a bit of a bug in there.

What you are looking for is that 2nd option “Remove the “front” portion of the author permalink structure” which would just use example.com and then append the “Author Base” which you can set to author and then the structure becomes example.com/author/AUTHOR_NAME/

BUT, it seems that if the “Author Base” has the same word as the permalink structure you’ve set in the WordPress options then it gets rid of both of them.

Which is definitely a bug in “Edit Authors Slug”.

It’s possible that the quotes around local are wrong, WordPress won’t recognize the curly ones, it has to be plain quotes. Or since it’s a value with no blank spaces the quotes can be ommited.

Can you try this:

I installed the Panorama project plugin and have Advanced Excerpt active, but I’m not seeing any issues in the admin.

Can you send over some additional information on what exactly happens, what gets truncated? Screenshots would be of great help.
