In reply to: images not appearing on site after move to subdomainThanks for the reply.
I don’t think this will work. My file paths are still the same. The domain name is still the same. The IP address is still the same. It’s simply been assigned as an add-on domain in the hosting account.
The URL’s are identical from before.

In reply to: images not appearing on site after move to subdomainTo be accurate, it was moved to add-on domain rather than a subdomain.
I’ve done moves like this before with static HTML sites and it all moves over fine. So I’m not sure why the WordPress site is not picking up the move. It’s strange because all of the core php files are working in terms of loading the pages and the search box. It’s just that the images are not appearing.

In reply to: Security question regarding author's post nameI figured it out.
Hacked at the code till it gave up.
I’m pretty sure you can do it.
Talk to your web hosting company.
You may have to access your site like this:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/mysterious-stuff-hosting-company-tells-you-to-type
rather than:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/the-way-you-normally-would-want-it
it actually might be on the front, like:
http://mysterious-webhosting-content-stuff.yourwebsitedomain.com
I’m 90% sure this can be done. But the people to speak to are the webhosting people.

In reply to: blog content is GONEDefinitely a good idea to regularly do a full backup of the data base. You always want to have this thought in mind:
If my site got totally destroyed this exact second, am I ready to get the site right back up immediately?

In reply to: How do you create blog post excerpts for the home page loop? The website is set up so the entire website is WordPress, rather than WordPress being a subpart of a larger site, if that makes any difference.
There’s about 75 php files and 100 javascript files in about 10 different folders. It’s crazy. I’ll be there all day trying to guess at where this stuff is.
I’m talking about the theme “Twenty Ten” with WordPress 3.1
Tell me what and where to scrape the code out.
Thanks.
I don’t care about updates.
I want to edit directly on the WP metal.
Where is the code in WP 2010, and how to I scrape out that date/author stuff?

In reply to: Please help me remove this stuffWhat official WordPress does not have this infomation forced into each post?
I find searching for information impossible on this site. The information is old and scattered. I’m looking for a direct and current answer to my specific question.
