Hmm, don’t think so. For instance, I recently activated a new plugin that added two extra custom fields automatically (feed url, etc) which I didn’t use, but the fields are still there, forever now, clogging up my list.

Hi, guys. nope, i haven’t done any of the above (moderate all comments). i never changed my settings in-between upgrades, so i can only assume that whatever is in the latest release of wordpress, it does something involving the server that the server is not allowing it to, thus the strange forced moderation effect.

does anyone have any ideas how the 2.7 commenting system affects a server, or what it needs the server to do, that my server may not be allowing it to?

i know this is kind of weird, and afaik i’m the only one with the problem. it’s really aggravating, as i don’t like not upgrading for security’s sake.

Added: It seems to only happen with non-registered commenters. Registered commenters’ comments go right through…

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi. Is there any way to solve this, guys? has anyone manage to get their upgrade to update correctly by doing it manually after having problems with it? what did you do to solve it?

The problem is, I’ve tried to do this manually, and I’m still not getting all the options like “Screen Options”, etc.

Huh, that’s weird! When I first upgraded the blog, I didn’t see it, but now it’s shown up, along with the “Upload” media options above the format bar. Thanks, looks good!

Basically I want to promote some of my other sites, and I thought the best way to get them “in front” of the visitor is literally to put them in front of the visitor via the bg. I know I can do it other ways, like with banner ads, links, etc, but I thought this would increase click-through ratio.

Anyways, I’m a coding noob, so can anyone suggest how I can do what cocobongo is suggesting? What would the code look like, and where would I put it, somewhere in the header php I would guess?
