You missed the word after “an”, so what do I use? 🙂

Hi all,
I’m getting serious about blogging and putting up stuff that was on my site and blah blah 🙂
Well, my question is this: I’ve seen this thing about posts and pages, and my question is, OK, I won’t use pages, I’ll use categories. But when I make a new post, the homepage gets t-h–i—s long. How can I prevent that? Or does WP trim the page and archive the posts at a certain point?
