I think you would go to the Presentation –> Theme Editor (Style.CSS Editor) then select the option sidebar. If you already have non-collective code then you can deleted it there. Or if you need to add it you would add it there. That is where I make changes to the sidebar.
I’m having a similar problem. I have not tried loading the default banner and I don’t know how I would do that. I don’t know when It went from the side to the botton I just noticed it a couple of day ago.
I also noticed that an article I posted also is not accessible when I click on the category. the category does not come up. There seems to be a problem with the category. Could that be related? Actually all of the categories have the same problem.
I als get a grey background instead of a white background but that may be a firefox issue. It’s white in IE 7
