However, I when I added the new php function in the generally recommended way using the WordPress plugin Code Snippets, it caused my website to crash with the message “There has been a critical error on this website.”, leaving me with no access to the WordPress dashboard. Fortunately, my domain host (GreenGeeks) were able to immediately disable the Code Snippets plugin (along with the supplied function) and the day was saved.

For now, can I make a functionality request for a new type of field (let’s call it Associated) which would be a hidden field. One of its properties is the name of the Reference field with which it is associated. Another is an association list which could be specified in a similar way to Options in a Dropdown field, e.g. A:A1,B:B1,C:C1, etc. Thus, if the value of the reference field is A, the value of the Associated field is A1. If the value is unmatched, the Associated field would have a null value.
