In reply to: Images Not UploadingHallo, and many thanks for your response.
While I was waiting I thought I would give minimising all the images (though they were not giving an http error message) a try. I did this for all 40 images and reuploaded – and they uploaded!!!!
Thank you so much Gary – I hadn’t realised that was also part of the original css.
It’s all perfect now. Many thanks!!
🙂
Gary,
Thank you for this.It works, with the exception of standard posts with featured images on the left viewed on a smaller screen. On a regular screen it has the red background I would like (yay!) – but when I look at the post on a smaller screen the categories, author name and date of posting are “invisible”
The post fromtheroots.co.ke/sculptors-of-mapungubwe/ is an example of this kind of regular post. Viewed on a smaller screen those 3 things are probably in white font. Is there an exception css for when the standard post moves to a smaller screen/is in responsive mode?
Also, many thanks for all your brainstorming and css help!!!
I have just realised that the author name and date don’t appear on my smartphone although they appear on the computer version of the blog. I have screenshots but not sure how to send them.
Hi Gary,
The name and date do appear now on that particular post. I checked on other posts to confirm this was the case across the board and found it not to be so. eg: http://fromtheroots.co.ke/a-year-later-on-being-back/ and
I don’t know how to send a screenshot. You’re right those are conflicting requests.
I have decided I prefer the look of the categories without the red background in mobile and small screen versions of posts or where the featured image is at the top of the post and not on the side.
ie, on posts with the featured image to the side I would like to have a red background to the categories (currently present with the code you provided). I would like to add code that gives an exception instruction for posts where the featured image is at the top, for mobile screens, or where there isn’t a featured image.
Thanks!!

In reply to: [Dyad] Move featured image to the top of the postThanks Chad! I tried it and ended up adjusting to 45:55 which isn’t all that different. But at least I know how to adjust it now!
🙂Ho Gary,
Thanks for your help. The code you shared is what I had tried previously. Here is a post on the site with the code as you requested:
http://fromtheroots.co.ke/a-thief-is-made-crime-in-nairobi/On the website version it looks perfect.
If you view the page from a smaller screen eg a smartphone or perhaps even a tablet, the categories appear above the title of the post and 1 the commas are in a different colour and 2 the post author name and post date are invisible (font has become white).I would like to have the mobile version not have a coloured background and appear simply as ‘plain text’ with the regular font and grey colour of the rest of the page.
Greatly appreciated!🙂

In reply to: [Dyad] Move featured image to the top of the postHi Chad,
I would appreciate it if you could share the code for this and I could try it to see if I’m happy with the effect.

In reply to: [Dyad] Move featured image to the top of the postI came here because I wanted to do the same but fear like Zeki that it is too much for me to do.
I wonder if what Zeki suggests is possibe though? To adjust the half-half nature of image and post to something like 40-60 or 35-65? While also maintaining the integrity (fullness) of the image? Is this too much to ask?

Is it possible to get similar help with copying a colour palette from wordpress.com dyad to a selfhosted dyad installation?
I would like to copy the colour palette of https://sustainabilityfromtheroots.wordpress.com/
