I did this: http://pastebin.com/p5jFvqW7 and it works great so far (just started using the plugin earlier so I might be wrong).
I’m out of ideas though on how to get the relationship between the two sets of taxonomies automatically so I don’t have to build the JSON manually.

We’ve actually submitted an updated version since yesterday.
As far as I can see in the topic that mentions this bug, that’s what my colleague said: you can either download it now manually and re-install or wait for the update to be live.
Sorry for the trouble and I would be happy if you try out the update and amend your review.

Sorry to hear about your troubles but looking at your support threads it seems that your issue is with a Types update, not with Sydney?
Is there any other topic? Note that Sydney hasn’t been updated in a month.
