Ok, here is something that might help you locating the permalink-404-bug:
WORKING:
/%postname%/
/foo/bar/%postname%/
NOT WORKING:
/archives/%post_id%
/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

Thanks, esmi. But if you’d read my post, you would knew that I already seen your “master list” and especially the post on the 404 bug. I read it long before I even considered reporting this bug.
It would be really nice if the wordpress team could fix this bug in the next release. Thanks.
