On top of that, my sidebar has gone haywire as well, if I try to reorder the widgets, or if i add some extra widgets, it just doesn’t save… Not sure what the problem is, originally I tried dumping the database and reinstalling (because I thought it might have been a database error), but it wouldn’t let me upload my database! So i had to reinstall 2.5.1, then import my blog (luckily I exported it prior to all this…)
Thinking of reinstalling 2.5 again and just updating the seurity fixes, in the hope that that might work for me… Any other ideas???
You can export your site into an xml file, then reinstall, etc (provided you don’t delete themes, plugins and uploads), but you may find your problems continue… I tried that myself, and all my posts, comments, etc. are safe, but nothing else seems to work… But that was why I deleted everything in the first place…
So in fact you CAN reinstall and keep your old content, it’s just a huge pain in the neck, and your site will probably never be exactly the same.
